New NAIC Management for 2023

Final month the members of the Nationwide Affiliation of Insurance coverage Commissioners (“NAIC”) elected new management from amongst their membership for 2023. Missouri Director Chlora Lindley-Meyers is the brand new President and the primary lady of colour elected to that place. Connecticut Commissioner Andrew N. Mais is the brand new President-Elect, which implies that he’ll fill in as President each time, on account of exigent circumstances, Director Lindley-Meyers is unable. As President-Elect, Commissioner Mais would be the presumptive NAIC President in 2024. North Dakota Commissioner Jon Godfread was elected Vice-President whereas Virginia Commissioner Scott A. White was elected Secretary-Treasurer.
Earlier this month, the NAIC named its committee chairs and vice chairs. The officers and the latest previous president all serve on the Government Committee whereas Director Lindley-Myers will chair the Government Committee as NAIC President. Whereas the Government Committee handles administration of the NAIC, the letter committees are the place the majority of the substantive law-making work of the NAIC happens. Because of this, the chairs and vice-chairs of those committees wield substantial affect. The brand new letter committee management are as follows:

NAIC officers could not function chairs or vice chairs of letter committees nor could a letter committee chair function chair of one other committee. There are provisions inside the NAIC bylaws mandating geographic range and thus limiting geographic focus in all NAIC management positions.
